Commercial Lines Producer

Essential job functions include prospecting, soliciting, quoting and selling new accounts as well as counseling and marketing for existing clients.  Specific sales goals and service responsibilities are determined during the yearly planning process for this position

The successful candidate will be creative and results oriented with excellent communication skills and have a positive, professional approach as he or she works with clients, insurance carriers and co-workers.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Adhere to agency procedures and standards
  • Identify and develop insurance prospects and appropriate market
  • Respond to referrals quickly and effectively
  • Pre-qualify insurance prospects for insurability and quality of risk
  • Create and maintain suspect and prospect lists
  • Design insurance plans and recommend coverages to clients
  • Survey loss exposures, needs and possible uninsurable or difficult to insure exposures for clients
  • Create insurance proposals with account managers and make sales presentations to prospective and existing clients on new and renewal business
  • Complete and submit applications and related documentation to appropriate insurance markets, assisted by service personnel, as appropriate
  • Develop, follow and complete sales objectives
  • Deliver binders, policies and invoices to clients as necessary

Requirements:

  • College degree or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years proven success as a Commercial Lines Producer
  • Current producers license in Commercial Lines
