Employee Benefits Producer

This producer is responsible for seeking out prospects and developing innovative ideas to meet the employee benefits needs of the client.  He or she will sell group medical, life, dental, vision and disability products to employers in the Boulder/Denver area, attaining annually established sales quotas.

The successful candidate will maintain a positive and professional approach in working with clients, insurance carriers and co-workers and will demonstrate excellent communication and time management skills.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Adhere to agency procedures and standards
  • Identify and develop insurance prospects and appropriate markets
  • Respond to referrals quickly and effectively
  • Create and maintain suspect and prospect lists
  • Design insurance plans and recommend coverages to clients
  • Create insurance proposals with account managers, make sales presentations to prospective and existing clients on new and renewal business
  • Develop, follow and complete sales objectives
  • Stay abreast of industry and governmental changes affecting group insurance and maintain an awareness of existing and developing market trends

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years proven success as an Employee Benefits Producer
  • Current producers license in Health and Life insurance
  • Knowledge of health and employee benefit plans, Section 125 plans, underwriting principles
